Indiana security firm to create 1,100 jobs, gets financial incentives from state

INDIANAPOLIS — (Jan. 30, 2008) Dave Lindsey, president of Defender Direct, the "first or second" largest ADT dealer in the country, joined with Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels on Jan. 30 to announce a plan to invest $15 million in his Indiana operations and create 1,100 new jobs in this state.
In addition, according to an InsideIndianaBusiness.com, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. will give Defender Direct up to "$6 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $345,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. The city of Indianapolis will consider property-tax abatement for expansion plans locally."
Lindsey started his business in 1998. Based here, he is an ADT dealer and a GE Security dealer, and also does work for satellite television company Dish Network. The company has a nationwide presence and 700 employees, 300 of whom are based in Indiana.
