Lynda

Job Description:

  • Sell ADT security systems and home monitoring services.
  • Help restore a sense of security and safety to families who have experienced a break-in.
  • Educate clients about the importance of owning a security system.
  • Explain what ADT is all about.

About the job:

"What makes me feel good is when I can create peace of mind when someone calls and shares they were just broken into. They are scared and nervous, and I give them the tools that will help them sleep at night. It makes me feel good that we are providing them comfort."

Hall of fame:

Was the first female and first African American to be the number one ADT sales agent at DEFENDER for two consecutive years.

What it means to become a leader:

Lynda now takes time away from the phone to be the call center representative to the DEFENDER Giving Council. The most meaningful council activity she participated in was serving lunch to the children at the Shepherd Community Center in Indianapolis.

Lynda has also become a leader in the call center, giving personal and professional advice to other representatives. The development and leadership programs she has taken part in at DEFENDER have helped her to be a leader at home. Lynda says she can better communicate with her sons and grandchildren, and has adopted a more positive outlook.

In her own words:

"At my last job they were just looking at my numbers. They didn't care about me. This company cares about me as a person. They are growing me. They have made me grow. I'm blessed. I love how good it is."

In his own words:

"My wife has told me that I have been happier at DEFENDER than I was in the three years before I started working here. I have more energy, and am more pleasant to be around. What it means to become a leader:

In his own words:

"If I didn't work at DEFENDER, my days would not be as positive, as forward thinking. Here, it is okay to fail as long as you are failing forward. It is a lifestyle. There is no difference between who I am here and who I am at home. My friends outside of DEFENDER are surprised to hear it's ok that I share my faith in the workplace. They are blown away by it."
